So, what exactly is Super Salve?
Super Salve is a heavy duty cocoa butter and almond oil based deep moisturizing formula for your skin. We developed it several years ago to help heal cracked and bleeding nail beds and hands in the winter but have found and heard of so many more uses for it.

A note on being pet safe. Yes we consider it pet safe and have used it on our own pets for cracked foot pads and chapped pressure spots. However it does contain a little bit of Tea Tree Oil, known to cause issues in sensitive dogs when used pure in large doses. Please use on your own pets at your own risk.

Aren’t all Muscle Rubs pretty much the same?

Well, yes, no, and definitely not. Most muscle rubs are in a base cream that absorbs into your skin and if you read the active ingredients probably contain menthol or camphor. Ours is sort of the same but vastly different at the same time. We use an oil base with wax that forms a barrier on the skin to hold in moisture and all the good stuff we add. By good stuff we mean the usual menthol and camphor, but we also add wintergreen, peppermint and a few other essential oils good at helping with inflammation. We also infuse the base oil with goldenrod which is a natural anti-inflammatory herb.

Isn’t this something Grandma had?

Yes, she probably did. It’s still made, but usually with chemicals you don’t want touching your skin. There are a ton of different formulations out there but we came up with something that works wonders out on the farm. All you have to do is smear a little bit on the offending splinter or metal shaving, slap a bandage on it overnight and the next morning it normally has come out on its own.
