Welcome to Hell Hound Apothecary, yes the name is a bit odd but if you’ve had more than a few hound dogs come through your doors you should get the picture. We open our home to retired, senior and special needs hounds and usually have 4 to 5 at any given time.
So about our products… Everything you buy is made in our home. We don’t take shortcuts like buying bases and adding fabricated scents. No, we do things the right way! We take the time to craft all our formulas from raw materials. We even take the time to infuse oils with real herbs when needed. Our herbs will come from our own property if at all possible where we don’t use any pesticides or chemicals. Otherwise everything is purchased from reputable sources.
We also prefer to reuse and recycle where possible so on occasion your soaps will be wrapped in brown paper packing from a shipment we’ve received. This saves both of us money and less trash goes into the environment.
Now for the disclaimers….
Nothing, and we mean nothing, we do is backed up by any kind of FDA testing or regulations. Everything is anecdotal and historical herbal usages going back years and years and years.
We have dogs, cats and occasionally chicks, possibly even a chicken, in the house where we create these formulas, we strain everything and make sure that we do our best but we might miss a hair or 2. We are, after all, only human and they tend to shed at the most inopportune times.
Soap notes:
We use a cold process on most of our soaps so they take longer to cure, if there is a “Ready to Use On” date, please hold off using this soap until after this date just to be on the safe side
